Enterprise Networking Incidents and Requests

Enterprise Networking (RUNet) connects the Rutgers campuses with each other and the internet. It is a critical service underlying the teaching, research, and administrative mission of the university.

Services provided:

  • 24/7 monitoring of critical infrastructure
  • Inside plant
  • Internet connectivity and Private Peering
  • IP Address Management/Hostmaster
    • IP address and hostname assignment
    • Subdomain creation and deletion
    • DNS records administration for “rutgers.edu” domain and “rutgers.edu” subdomains
    • DNS delegated administrator group registration and member updates
    • DNS service delegation to authorized members of delegated administrator groups for management of DNS records in a “rutgers.edu” subdomain
    • Host and subdomain name conflict escalation assistance to teams responsible for Rutgers branding and university communications
    • Add or remove university DHCP service

Services managed by:
The Network Operation Center (NOC) provides centralized management of RUNet and support of Enterprise Network Services by monitoring the Rutgers University network health and performance.
